Mood, emotion, narrative; combining harmony, melody, sound and noise; to surprise or give the appearance of recognition, to contradict or accompany. The greatest challenge in composing music for image is to translate the intentions of the director, using the semiotics of sound, in order to create a meaningful experience for the spectator.
I am a composer and sound designer currently living in Paris.
Classically trained, with piano and clarinet as my main instruments, I have collaborated with people in a variety of group constellations and orchestras throughout the years.
This, together with engineering and acoustics studies in both Stockholm and Berlin, has shaped my approach to music, which is both contemplative and direct. I strive to please both guts and brain.
I've been composing music and worked with sound design since 2004, comprising projects for tv; such as advertisement, television identities and documentary film; short-films, exhibitions, performances and in-store installations.
I am just as comfortable working on commercial projects as more free-spirited and experimental collaborations.
